LÜTOLF OVEN APPARATUS
DETERMINATION OF THE DECOMPOSITION TEMPERATURE
EXOTHERMIC REACTION IN THE OPEN CUP
STANDARD REFERENCES:
VDI 2263 part 1, point 1.5.1 – Exothermic decomposition, Testing as per Lutolf.
LÜTOLF OVEN - designed to observe the lowest temperature
at which tested substance shows an exothermic reaction.
The thermal stability of chemical substances is usually investigated in the presence of air
(under defined oxygen-lean conditions). Sample of material is heated up to 350°C.
Linear temperature increase rate is 2,5°C/min.
Measured temperature is compared to the temperature of inert reference material (graphite)
